Upper Urinary Tract Anomales - Duplex Collecting System
- Maldevelopment of valve mechanism of lower pole ureter - more direct course as orifice of ureter above and lateral to trigone which makes it more prone to reflux.
- Ectopic insertion of upper pole moeity- medially and inferior. MALE - prostatic urethra and seminal vesicles most common; FEMALE - Vestibule (end of vagina) and Vagina most common.
- Duplicated collecting system - droopling lily sign (fewer than normal lower pole calyces and lateral deviation of proximal ureter due to medial location of dilated ureter from nonfunctioning upper pole)
- Ectopic Ureterocele -usually associated with ectopic upper pole duplicated collection system.
